An Edwardian style mahogany mantel made in 1919. This original Edwardian chimney-piece was removed from a home in Reddish, Stockport
The mantel has moulded block feet and a moulded trim around the fireplace opening. There is moulded edging to the recessed mirror panel that frames the original oval bevelled edge mirror.
There is dentil moulding under the moulded edge top mantel shelf and the central mantel shelf also has a moulded edge
This shelf is shaped like a Tudor arch, tapering from 5.5 inches deep in the middle to 4 inches at the edges. It is supported on two unusually shaped brackets.
