This Arts and Crafts influenced Fireplace insert is from an original design dated around 1908. Fireplaces like this were popular up until 1939
The original fireplace was made in these colours but we can re-make this design in any colours from out tile colour palette.
It would be more commonly seen in the Olive Green or Red tiles that were the hallmark of these Edwardian fireplaces but the Black and Inca Gold pattern shown here does lend this traditional design a contemporary edge.
We also can produce this design as a complete fireplace, needing no separate mantel.
The distinctive opening tiles that are the hallmark of this fireplace insert are hand glazed here in our factory and the subtle manufacturing skills used in their production are being kept alive.
Note: Tiles are manufactured to BS 6431 and are not guaranteed against crazing. Whilst most tiles do not normally craze the thicknesses of glaze necessary to reproduce the period effects may often cause this to occur. It does not affect serviceability and actually achieves a truer degree of reproduction effect.
